Usui Traditional Japanese Reiki
Reiki First Degree - Reiki Second Degree Reiki Master Practitioner - Reiki Master Teacher
If you are going to learn Reiki, do it the Usui Traditional way. There is a difference from the Western version of Reiki. Both have the Usui name and come from Usui Mikao. The Traditional way is simplistic, powerful and working on an intuitive level.
Our objective is to produce powerful healers of a very high standard and, successful confident and dynamic Master/Teachers.
Usui Traditional Japanese Reiki ( Usui Reiki Ryoho which means: Usui Healing Method or Usui Spiritual Healing Method ) is the nearest to the form of Reiki that Usui himself taught. This original system was very simple, elegant, powerful and uncluttered . The system was not bogged down in endless mechanical techniques and complex rituals. The prime focus of Usui's Reiki is for the personal benefits that will come from committing oneself to working with the system for self-healing and spiritual development and to work intuitively.
The Western version of Reiki had many extras added by Mrs. Takata who it seems was the first person to bring Reiki to the West.
Ann was a Spiritual healer from the age of 25. In later years she decided to take Western Reiki (She is a Master Teacher) and in due course found Usui Traditional Japanese Reiki and became a Master Teacher yet again. She says she was not comfortable with the Western version but Usui Traditional Japanese Reiki integrates well with her vast experience as a healer and teacher.
Ann's background as a spiritual healer and a Sensitive enables her to connect our students to an intuitive level, in addition to the traditional attunements at each Reiki level. The technique of the intuitive connection is taught to our students at the Reiki Master Teacher level.
Working intuitively is a valuable asset in all therapies involved in energy work.
Reiki First Degree (Shoden)
ONE DAY ATTENDENCE with prior home study period
It is about connecting to the Energy, developing your sensitivity to the flow of energy, beginning your own healing and expanding your mindset to allow you to channel the energy effectively. You learn to work intuitively straight away.
The main focus is: Self healing Practice giving healing to family, friends and pets History and philosophy of Reiki The essence of the system
A few of the things you also learn within Shoden: how it works, its benefits and why we need to practice on ourselves, self-healing practice, and practicing your connection to the healing energies, learning to work intuitively and how to work on others.
You receive the Usui Traditional Japanese Reiki Attunements, high vibrational connections and intuitive connection. You receive detailed instruction and practice on how to do self-healing and more. Plus valuable extra information in the Additional Learning Module plus a helpful accompanying CD which includes meditations.
All our groups receive a lot of personal attention to help make sure you understand each level. If a group has more than 4 students we have two Reiki Masters in attendance.
You receive a beautifully presented, in depth, comprehensive, easy to understand manual which includes an Additional Learning section of related items and a CD with guidance and a lovely meditation.

There is usually six months between First and Second Degree. This is to allow time to develop, practice and work the energy. Practicing the techniques at this level enables one to develop into a practitioner of above average qualities. Because our standards are high, we produce practitioners and teachers of quality with above average expertise. Reiki Second Degree is an in depth study as your Reiki journey continues with Second Degree – Successful completion of Practitioner Level enables you to practice Reiki professionally. We equip you with the traditional techniques needed to become a successful Practitioner.
More Usui Traditional Japanese Reiki attunements, a further intuitive connection and practice. Reiki symbols & mantras, distant healing techniques, Reiki energy, intuitive practice, healing practice plus all the necessary requirements and techniques are taught and a lot more. We endeavour to help you to d evelop your intuition (which you were borne with) which will help you to instinctively be aware of the parts of the client's body that is creating their problem which may not be where they actually feel pain.

For ReikiProgressive students wishing to take the Master Levels it will be necessary to have completed the First and Second Degree Usui Traditional Japanese Reiki to ensure full comprehension and awareness of Shoden and Okuden. Also to have developed the skill of working with intuition by helping you further develop your intuitive side (which you were borne with) will help you to instinctively be aware of the parts of the client's body that is creating their problem which may not be where they actually feel pain .
For students already attuned to Reiki they will need to re-take the Shoden and Okuden levels in Usui Traditional Japanese Reiki and will receive these First and Second Degree Manuals as well as the relevant Certificates.
This is a pre-requisite as we, at ReikiProgressive, only teach Usui Traditional Japanese Reiki to ensure a very high standard of understanding, practice and intuitive connection. The Master Levels, can only be taken by students whose previous levels are Usui Traditional Japanese Reiki either with us or as retakes with us to ensure they have an opportunity to understand about working with intuition and that they gain maximum benefit from the connections.

† We at ReikiProgressive reserve the right to disallow individual Teacher students who do not have Usui Traditional Japanese Reiki Certificates from sitting in on refresher Reiki courses.

This is a continuing in depth study and a deepening of our understanding of Usui Traditional Japanese Reiki. Developing the spiritual and mental connection, Reiki Master Meditations, Japanese Techniques for increasing energy and awareness. Also increased healing energy techniques, refining hand positions and using intuition and much, much more. Also continuing to develop the energy related topics in the Additional Learning Module. A CD accompanies the course. Master Practitioner level includes an Anatomy and Physiology accredited diploma course.

This is the ultimate level of Usui Traditional Japanese Reiki. Successful completion of this level puts you amongst the best informed Reiki Master/Teachers in the country.
A further in depth study of the Reiki system. Learning Reiju, Attunements for all Degrees, intuitive connections and lots of practice so that you are confident and competent in teaching Reiki. There is a lot more in the course. We do try wherever possible to have our new Reiki Masters work with us under supervision so that they are confident and competent in their future work as a Master/Teacher of the highest level.

Effects of chronic stress The body doesn't distinguish between physical and psychological threats. When you're stressed over a busy schedule, an argument with a friend, a traffic jam, or a mountain of bills or job pressure, your body reacts just as strongly as if you were facing a life-or-death situation. If you have a lot of responsibilities and worries, your emergency stress response may be “on” most of the time. The more your body's stress system is activated, the harder it is to shut off and relax. Long-term exposure to stress can lead to serious health problems. Chronic stress disrupts nearly every system in your body. It can raise blood pressure, suppress the immune system, increase the risk of heart attack and stroke, contribute to infertility, and speed up the aging process. Long-term stress can even rewire the brain, leaving you more vulnerable to anxiety and depression. Many health problems are caused or exacerbated by stress, including:
Signs and symptoms of stress overload It's important to learn how to recognize when your stress levels are out of control. The most dangerous thing about stress is how easily it can creep up on you. You get used to it. It starts to feel familiar – even normal. You don't notice how much it's affecting you, even as it takes a heavy toll.
